Avast made ​​great strides in previous updates. Version 5 sets the stage for modern security suites, a massive popular, and free with a new interface that throw a, odd late 90's style jukebox to see more subtle. Easier to navigate, it also becomes easier to add new features.

Installation
Installing Avast is a painful process that compares well against competitors such as AVG free, though - as a competitor - it is much slower than installing the program paid like Trend Micro, Kaspersky, or Norton.
Some items of note during installation that will come later in the review: to completely avoid the new Windows 7 and Vista desktop gadgets, or browser add-on WebRep new, you must choose the Custom install option and uncheck them here.
Automatic installation of this feature is preferred, although Avast does not provide a clear method for uninstalling them. It's just not as simple as check boxes that have the installation window itself, because you have to through the Customize menu, which makes auto-install a kind of stealth.
On the plus side, Avast install does not require a reboot, uninstall it and use our tools to detect any remnants in the Registry or on the desktop.
