Panda Cloud Antivirus Free Edition

When the debut first, Cloud Panda Antivirus is renowned as a free security solution for two reasons: Panda traded on a reputation as a solid security suite vendors make the first plunge into the realm of freeware, and the program reach its goals to free system resources by placing a lot of heavy lifting in the program cloud. Now we can add a third reason for the list: it is now recognized as an effective alternative to the centers of the security forces. When you open the Cloud Antivirus, the main window lets you know whether you are safe or not with a large red or green icons. Antivirus Cloud worked as other antivirus solutions to do, offers a Quick Scan and Custom scan certain folders, files, and drives, but the additional features the company is very light. You can opt out of anonymous data contribute to the cloud, but which also opts you out of the automated threat management. There is a proxy network connection options to suit your needs, and reporting features that will indicate the type of threat has been detected and deleted from your computer. You can filter the report by the All, Last 24 hours last week or last month, and there is a panel from the Recycle Bin where you can restore a false positive, according to your needs. Simple level tweaks and adjustments have been hidden behind the screen annoying "flipping" the cheesily spinning when you need to access them, but they give the option of a clean UI that is not available previously.
CNET Labs' benchmarks established that Panda Cloud Antivirus Free 1.3 has a small but detectable effect on system performance. This slow boot time with just under eight seconds compared with systems that are not protected, while computer shutdown for more than three seconds slower. However, the virus Cloud Antivirus' scan time is 540 seconds zippy on CNET test computer, scan in the top five times that of the reference suite this year. Cloud Antivirus impact 'on Microsoft Office is a big disappointment, but suggests this program is marked impact on at least Cinebench tests. Overall, this program may have less of an impact on computer startup time, but do not have a very fast scan and cause the least disruption to Cinebench test.

Although still lacking a few adjustments, the larger weight in the other has a free antivirus solution, the most striking scheduler, the program is not always a bad choice for stripped-down anti-virus. It has added on-demand full scan, and walk around 15MB of RAM when idle and about 60MB when scanning. This is a great choice for users Netbook conscious resources. Cloud Panda Antivirus make a choice, a decent sense of security for anyone who wants to effectively balance security and system performance.(source)

Avast Free Antivirus

Avast made great strides in previous updates. Version 5 sets the stage for modern security suites, a massive popular, and free with a new interface that throw a, odd late 90's style jukebox to see more subtle. Easier to navigate, it also becomes easier to add new features.
Make no mistake; Avast 6 adds features both large and small. Some that were previously only available to users of paid upgrades are now free for all versions, and new features have been added to the seamless interface experience. If you are familiar with Avast 5, upgrade to Avast 6 can not be that big a leap.
Installation
Installing Avast is a painful process that compares well against competitors such as AVG free, though - as a competitor - it is much slower than installing the program paid like Trend Micro, Kaspersky, or Norton.
Some items of note during installation that will come later in the review: to completely avoid the new Windows 7 and Vista desktop gadgets, or browser add-on WebRep new, you must choose the Custom install option and uncheck them here.
Automatic installation of this feature is preferred, although Avast does not provide a clear method for uninstalling them. It's just not as simple as check boxes that have the installation window itself, because you have to through the Customize menu, which makes auto-install a kind of stealth.
On the plus side, Avast install does not require a reboot, uninstall it and use our tools to detect any remnants in the Registry or on the desktop. Avast has said that the installer has shrunk to about 20 percent of the third version, although still a large download at around 57MB for the free version. (source)
